A trip to Tiny Town - end of May 2008

We are so behind in keeping our photos updated on this blog, and I'm not really sure who even checks this on a regular basis, but for starters here are a few pics from Nana Peggy and Papa Russ' visit around Memorial Day. Of course we had to take them to one of our favorite sites near Denver, the one and only Tiny Town!! Love this place! More recent summer pics to be posted soon...I promise!

More Crested Butte Pics

Here are a few more pics from last weekend's getaway to Crested Butte, which is known as CO's wildflower capital. The place is covered with them and Sofia loved smelling every single one she could find, which made walking around a long (but entertaining) process.

Crested Butte Family Trip

After more than 8 years of living in CO, we finally made the 5-hour drive from Denver to gorgeous Crested Butte. Even though it was a long trip in the car (just ask the kids), it was worth every bit of driving! I know why people fall in love with this place and never want to leave. It is one of the most stunning places I've ever been and by far the most beautiful in CO - an historic old mining town surrounded by dramatic mountain peaks, each cut by a lush green valley. It almost looked fake, like a movie backdrop. Here are a few pics of the area - more to come later.

Our Baby's All Grown Up

My baby girl is officially a big girl! Here is Sofia all ready for her first day of school today, which is at a nearby preschool for 3 hours a day, 2 days a week. I'm pretty sure this monumental day was much harder on Mama than anyone else, but we survived the goodbyes (Sofia shed a few tears...I held mine in until I reached the car). I already received a call from one of her lovely teachers who reported she is in good spirits and playing with a friend in the class's imaginary play section. I think my baby girl was ready for school.
